I moved to the UK on Skilled Worker Visa (5 years) along with dependents, to join a university as a Lecturer (permanent position) in January 2023. Now I'm thinking of switching to the Global Talent Visa as it has a shorter time period towards ILR (3 years). I have some confusions that I want to clarify before I apply;
1. Can I apply for 1 year GTV as I've already spent 2.5 years and I know that years on SWV will be counted.
2. My daughter has turned 18 this year, will the switch in my visa create any problems when she applies for ILR after completing 5 years? Only I am switching at this point and my dependents will remain on their existing visas. I have seen some cases where 18 year old children were not granted visas.
3. At the time I paid the IHS, I used different credit/debit cards to make the payments as it was difficult to make huge payments in forex from one account. If any extra IHS reimbursement has to be made, can I get it in my UK account instead of the accounts that the payments were originally made from?
4. How do we know that we are 'exceptional talent' or 'emerging talent' and does that define if you need 3 years or 5 years towards ILR? My endorsement will be from the British Academy and the field is Management & Business. I don't want to switch if it will still require 5 years towards ILR, can't go through the hassle and do not have too much spare money.
Thanking in advance!
