Requesting naturalization certificate returned to sender via registered post

Post by kunduz » Thu Aug 14, 2025 5:37 am

Hi all,

My naturalization certificate was posted after ceremony, but I was out of the country and unable to collect it (address was correct), so returned to the citizenship office. I sent an e-mail to citizenshipinfo@justice.ie explaining the case and included the application number, confirmed address and etc.

However, I haven't received any reply back from this e-mail address like ten days. I wonder if there is anything else I can do in order to get posted the certificate again?

Thanks,

You have to be home to receive the certificate, the postman doesn't put it in the mailbox? and if he doesn't leave it in the mailbox you should be able to pick it up from the post office , i don't think will be send it back immediately , probably will be at post office for few days maybe weeks . If someone had similar experience can share the details with as please .

I wasn't in the country at that time and AnPost just keeps these registered posts (sent within the country) for 3 days. Therefore, it was already sent back to the immigration/citizenship office, so I sent the e-mail to the address I mentioned in my previous e-mail. There is no way to get it unless you are physically there.

Someone may find it useful, after that incident, I learnt that there is a mail pause service to keep your posts for a period of time instead of trying to deliver to you. So when you are back, you can collect everything from AnPost. Link for the service https://www.anpost.com/Post-Parcels/Man ... ailMinder).
