This seems to suggest the grandchildren would need to have a Dutch parent (who was Dutch at the time the children were born) to qualify. If that is the case they were automatically Dutch at birth. Otherwise they could qualify via 5 years residency in the Netherlands.hrak1978 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 11:03 pm@alterhase58
Much appreciated for the reply.
So here is the history
My dad (Got first Dutch Passport in 1989) myself and my 2 brothers were in Pakistan. Only I travelled to UK in 2004 and got EU Family permit through my father in 2011 and subsequently got British Citizen.
My brother's kids (grand kids of my dad) all born in Pakistan still residing in Pakistan.
So if I'm understanding correctly your father registered you, your brother and mother as residents in the Netherlands on the Personal Records Database in 1999 but you, your brother and mother never arrived or resided in the Netherlands? Unfortunately, I can't see how that would be helpful in relation to citizenship.hrak1978 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 11, 2025 4:12 pm@Vadrar
Much appreciated for the clarification. My sincere apologies for late reply I was not in UK just came back and was really busy.
My father sent application form and job related documents to my mum in 1999 and I remember that he told me many times he register the whole family in Netherlands but mum couldn't apply because she got sick badly and they never applied.
Can you advise if my father register us all in local council and if were on the system do you think if there are any chance? for the kids means my brothers can get Dutch Nationality?
Many thanks in advance.
