Doesn't seem like there's been any new timelines recently. Here's mine


Appointment Date at VFS Manchester: 27 Aug 2025
Under Process at Birmingham HC: 30 Aug 2025
OCI Granted: 03 Oct 2025 (this is when they approve the application)
OCI Issued: 06 Oct 2025
OCI card dispatched from printing cell: 07 Oct 2025
OCI received at mission/FRRO:
OCI received by the applicant:

I see that many people here go their OCI within 2-3 days since the "grant" date...it's been a week for me and it hasn't even arrived at the FRRO, and who knows when I'll get it.

Issue is, I have my flight to India on 20th October, that leaves just 6 business days between now and then for me to get my OCI. There isn't really any means to get in touch with the FRRO or VFS even to get more information.

And do I spend another £100+ now to get an evisa, only to end up with OCI being delivered to me last day?

Was there any further update or status change for you post 7th Oct ? I am in a similar situation and I fly on 16th Oct'25 with current status at dispatched from printing cell.

My timeline for application of Fresh OCI for a minor child at VFS Manchester.

Appointment Date at VFS Manchester: 3 Sep 2025
Under Process at Birmingham HC: 5 Sep 2025
OCI Granted: 08 Oct 2025 (this is when they approve the application)
OCI Issued: 09 Oct 2025
OCI card dispatched from printing cell: 10 Oct 2025
OCI received at mission/FRRO: 14th Oct at VFS Birmingham
OCI received by the applicant: Collected personally at VFS Birmingham as I had to fly on 16th Oct . Emailed Birmingham consulate and they were able to stop the despatch to allow me to collect it

I fly on 16th Oct'25, anyone knows if the fresh OCI is printed in the UK or in India ? Trying to gauge if I will get the OCI before 16th Oct.

Thanks for the responses. I have received my OCI and the schedule is below.

Hunslow OCI appointment - 25th August;
Granted - 16th September;
Received OCI - 19th September;

Notes :
1)They returned my British Passport at the in-person appointment
2)There is a voter ID declaration which needs to be signed and uploaded as well which i uploaded later during the in-person appointment day

Hi Henna, I will attend the appointment at Hounslow. I have a query regarding the voter id declaration. Are they asking to provide proof of cancellation, as i'm getting error while trying to cancel it online. i'm planning to resolve it on my next visit to India. please share your experience on this matter.

I have recently applied for my OCI in VFS Hounslow. Thought I would share the list of documents I have provided.
1. British passport
2. Naturalisation certificate
3. Surrendered Indian passport
4. Passport Surrender certificate
5. Marriage certificate
6. Wife's British passport
7. Letter from employer
8. Address proof
9. Completed application form
10. Appointment letter
11. Indian voter ID declaration

Upload these documents online. Selection of the document type from the drop down need not match with the actual document type.
I would advise to carry self attested copies of all the above documents. For passport, take copies of front and the back pages

***Renunciation is no longer needed.

Just to let you know, I submitted my OCI application with only the declaration form and did not provide an acknowledgement number or proof of cancellation. My application was updated yesterday(29/01/2026) to show that it has been granted. So, there’s no need to worry about the acknowledgement number—simply submit the undertaking or declaration form as required.
