Applying for Skilled Worker visa while my partner is renewing expired passport.

Hello,

I am currently on graduate visa and I have received the COS from my employer. I want to apply for my Skilled Worker visa. I am in the UK with my husband and son (5years old). About 3 months back my husband applied to renew his passport. He still hasn't received his passport but since I need to apply for my Skilled worker visa, I am unsure of how to proceed. Can I apply for myself and my son now, while my husband applies when he gets his new passport? In the Skilled worker visa application there is a question 'Is your partner applying with you?'. Since he wants to apply for dependant visa but he is not applying now, I do not know how to answer that. Also, in a later section in the application, they ask of I can provide a valid passport number for my partner to which I answered 'No'. I am really grateful if someone can explain to me how to answer the above question and, let me know whether my husband applying later, would have a negative impact on his application or my son's application.

What's the current immigration status of your husband and the expiry date of his leave?

Thank you for replying. His passport was expired last November. He is currently my graduate dependant and the current visa expiry date is 08.10.2026.

If you apply for your child dependant visa now, it'll be approved until 08-10-2026. The validity of the leave of dependant children always goes in line with the least favourable parent.

Your dependants can continue with their current visa and apply later. I'd suggest for your dependants to wait until your husband has a new passport and they both can apply together - before/by the expiry date above.
