Good morning,
We are a couple about to apply for a spouse visa.
I am Italian and Naturalised British citizen. I am currently a full time student (I receive student finance for maintenance every year and I work on and off).
My partner is non-British, and came to the UK since September 2023 with a Student Visa, and is now working full time on a Graduate Visa. We met at University 2 years ago and got married in February this year.
He works full time and earns about £33.000 per year before tax. As my partner is already in the UK with a graduate Visa, can we meet the financial requirements with his income only?
We do not live together yet due to distance from work but we plan to get a house together soon this year.
For evidence about our relationship, would our pictures, holidays together and communication (texts, WhatsApp) since 2024 be enough?
Finally, I receive carer allowance (for my disabled child). I read that if that is used to bypass the financial requirement, I would need to demonstrate that I have "adequate financial stability to support my spouse and any dependents without relying on public funds". However, my spouse is already in the UK and works full time and earns £33.000 so does not need to be supported by me financially.
Any advice or feedback about our situation and how to maximise our chances of getting the Spouse Visa is very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance everyone.
