School trip to France - Is Schengen visa required?

Me, my wife and daughter all have settled status (ILR) in the UK. My child is going on a school trip for a week to France in July. Does she need a Schengen visa to visit France with her school? Her school is unable to advise and I’m getting mixed response from friends. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
