Documentation of Self Employment Earnings for ILR (Global Talent Visa Route)

Hello all,

I am on my GTV route endorsed by BA and going to apply for ILR in early 2027. I am self-employed and teaching online at a non-UK university in my field as a visiting faculty. Can I give the earning from this self-employment as a proof of earning in the UK?

Thank you very much for this information Zimba. I am also worried about the source of the earning as it is from an institution not inside the UK. It is not a UK based institution, either. I am afraid it might not be eligible.

Well, it clearly says you must show you earned money in the UK. You were granted visa to come here and work in the UK in your expert field

Yes, I teach or work in the UK though the classes are online. If "earned money in the UK" does not need to be from the UK source, as you pointed out, then my earning is eligible.

Hello all,

To document the earned money in the UK linked to my expert field when I teach courses remotely, I am preparing to collect the following documents; are they the right ones? and would I need any other additional ones?

1. HMRC self-assessment tax return (SA302) of the tax year when I had income from my self-employment
2. The signed agreements between the US based university and me for the courses I gave remotely from the UK
3. The payslips from the university
4. The bank statements of the months when the payments of the university was made
5. The letter from the university confirming the payment and how the work was related to my academic field
