Family visitor visa for a student

Post by Alex3977 » Fri Apr 10, 2026 12:35 pm

Hello,
I, my wife and my son are British citizens.

I want to invite my niece to visit us on a family visitor visa. My 20-year-old niece is an Indian citizen and currently on a student visa (2nd year on) in Georgia. She has a temporary residence permit until 2030 to finish her studies there.

She wants to travel here from mid-July to mid-Sept only when her university is closed for summer vacation.

She will provide her university enrolment letter, temporary residence permit, study fees confirmation letter, and consent letter from her parents (my sister & brother-in-law).

Please advise which other documents from her side can make her application stronger.

Thanks!

Her documents seems fine to me. Who's going to be paying for her travel? Whomever that is, needs to show finances for the last 6 months (bank statements and payslips).
She'll need an invite from you, data page of you passport and proof that you can take care of her when she's here in the UK.
Then you all cross your fingers.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
