Tier 1 - Work Permit question - Employer contact info

Hello,
I couldn't seem to find this in my searches - there is an abundance of information here!!
I will be applying for the Tier 1 work permit next week and was wondering if I need to include the contact information of my employer. Reason I ask is I don't want them calling my manager/boss which could result in getting me fired. I don't plan to leave until July and I would like to keep my job until then. The reason I'm moving is my girlfriend is getting her Ph.D in anthropology and her field research site is in the UK. (She has to observe/interview people and then do her write up/dissertaion.)
My boss knows this and she is currently teaching at the university here and can't leave until July. So that was why I was worried that he might ask me why I would be getting a visa. Seeing as if I'm trying to look for other employment, he might seek to find someone to fill my spot knowing that I'm leaving.
But if I want the visa then I'll have to submit that info. Plus I've read that only "if necessary" they will contact my employer.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Dude,

What visa you are currently on? I applied for WP ->Tier1 on jan 9th and they called my employer yesterday for verification.

I'm applying for the Tier 1 General next week. Was worried about what my manager would say when/if they contacted him.
