Management Vs Consultancy Experience

Post by QEF8DD » Tue Mar 31, 2009 3:28 pm

I guess the questions I have are relevant to all the skill areas.

Say, If one has 7-10 years of experience in his/her domain and also had exposure to team leading/coordination management back in his country, then should one highlight this in his CV for the UK job hunt ? Can one straight away be hired into a leading/coordination role by a British company ? (I find this pretty hard to comprehend from their point of view!).

Is it ok if one highlights the technical side of things rather than the management aspect lest the interviewer things the interviewee is on two boats at the same time and may not be good in either ??!!

The above struck me while I was fine-tuning my CV and am not sure if I should mention the experience leading teams at all since my primary expertise is into technical/development side of things. How does it affect the salaries (Of course managers get paid more but what if u r a technical leader?? I know managers in U.S sometimes are good developers as well but not sure about UK/England market).
