in-person Tier 1 application?

Post by lionfly » Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:02 pm

Just find out the in-person premium service is open for Tier 1 General now:

Anyone has booked an appointment from next week 06 April?

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... sopendoors

But nowhere else on UKBA web site is consistent with this. "Applying", "Cost", etc., all saying no in-person application for Tier 1 General. Even you do not know how much they charge for in-person applications.

02 March 2009

The UK Border Agency is extending the range of applications that can be made in person at our public enquiry offices.

From 6 April 2009, you will be able to use the 'premium service' at any of our five public enquiry offices if you are applying under the following categories of the points-based system:

Highly skilled workers Tier 1 (General)
Sponsored skilled workers Tier 2 (General)
Tier 2 (Ministers of Religion)
Tier 2 (Sportsperson)
Tier 2 (Intra-company transfers)
Temporary workers Tier 5 (Creative and sporting)
Tier 5 (Charity workers)
Tier 5 (Religious workers)
Tier 5 (Government authorised exchange)
Tier 5 (International agreement)

We will begin taking appointments for these categories from 2 March 2009. (The appointments will be for 6 April onwards.)

in person tier 1 booking

Post by jalal.din » Thu Apr 02, 2009 5:29 pm

I am booked for 5th of May for Tier 1 extension. Existing visa is HSMP . No fee payed yet.
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. What I know is that I need to pay on the day of appointment. I hope my debt cards will work there. Fee is 950£ and I have two dependents.
regards,
Jalal

I am trying to get appointment for Glasgow and HO keeps telling all appointments booked till next six weeks (till 14th May) and they cannot book beyond that. I had called them twice around 12 pm.

Does anyone know of any other Public Enquiry Office where appointment could be easily booked ad the latest dates available?

Do you think postal is safer than in-person?

Does the following mean if you send form before 26/04, you can still use the 03/09 form, and pay current 750+0 fee for postal?

"In line with paragraph 34I of the Immigration Rules, the previous versions of each of the forms will continue to be valid for applications made up to 21 days after 6 April 2009."

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... rms-060409

Actually this is just a question for fun, who dare to risk??? anyway.

Why don't they just top to 100000 pounds fee in one go??
