the exact date is crucial !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

could please someone help me calculate exactly what date to apply for ILR
for the folowing details

visa valid from
04/12/2008 expiry date 04/03/2011 = 27 months total
entred Uk and have a stamp dated :14/12/2008

when do i need to apply for ILR
shall i count from date of entry or date of issue the 2 years ???
i really don t want to get the wrong date and become an overstayer or book wrong date and not have my thousand pounds refunded

As of now the rules for ILR says that you have to be Physically in UK for 5 years. and you can apply for ILR 28 days before you finish your 5 years.

So, your 5 years clock starts from the day you land in UK and not from the day your visa is stamped.

Always make sure you apply before your visa expires.

I'm presuming you came here on a spouse visa, and if so the earliest you can apply is 28 days prior to the 14/12/2010, which I think is the 17/11/2010. This is of course assuming the rules haven't changed by then.

thanks guys , this forum is excellent , i tried to get hold of any department in home office but it s engaged continuously
now it s very clear i will make sure i make appointment starting from
17/11/2010

fingers cross they won t make our lives any harder and change the rules
