HSMP Visa Extension

Post by krish_79 » Mon May 18, 2009 3:27 pm

I have a HSMP visa valid from Sep2007 to Sep2009. I am now in a position to apply for an extension during the coming months. I started to work in May2008. But unfortunately, due to the economic downturn, i was made redundant and i lost my job in April 2009. In order to be on the safer side i used the points calculator to check whether i am eligible to apply for the HSMP extension. I am happy to say that the results from the points calculator showed that i am eligible to apply for an extension.

But my Query is do i need to have a job when applying for an extension or can i extend it based on my previous earning. Somebody please help me on this query.

No. You dont need to be employed while applying for an extension as long as you score all points required. In your situation I would advise to apply as soon as Possible so that you can submit your full 12 months slips from last concecutive 15 months. Dont delay your application anymore.

Mind you please instruct your X employer about possible verification call from UKBA. They usually do the verification with your employer to check the authencity of evidences.

You don't need to be employed to apply for extension as long as you qualify and getting all points. You can apply for early extension.
