NARIC Certificates

Post by HKDK » Tue Jun 30, 2009 10:19 am

Hi,

I have applied for Statement of Comparability and English Language Assessment with NARIC.

Just wondering what would be the content of the certificate. I mean if I had done my MCA from Gujarat University then what would be written on Statement of Comparability and English Language Assessment?

My understanding is Statement of Comparability would relate the equivalent UK degree. How can I confirm and from where how much points I can score for my UK equivalent degree written on Statement of Comparability ?

Will NARIC be mentioning on the certificate how much points we score for our degree assessment ?

Many Thanks
HKDK

NARIC will state that Degree from your home country is equivalent to the X degree of UK.

NARIC is an independent agency. It does not tell you how many points you can claim on this degree.

You can also check UKBS PBS calculator to check points allocated for your degree.

Have you checked your degree on the UKBA points calculator?? if it exists on the points calculator you dont need a NARIC certificate.

If not.. and if NARIC says that its equivalent to UK masters then points you will get is 35 (as said by Chetan). Just mention the same on the cover letter and dont forget to mention about NARIC certificate as evidance.

Thanks to all.

English language Assessment and Statement of Comparability both are seperate certificates.

On the site - http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator
it only shows Master's degree option and not the MCA degree under the Qualification section.

And for Institute or body section it shows the name of my University(Gujarat) and not the college name.

By UKBA calculator do u mean the same where I am looking for my point.? If not please let me know the website for UKBA.

Many Thanks ance again

If PBS shows points for your University Name and Master Degree, you will be fine. It doesn't always shows college names.

Make sure that the PB Calculator awards you 10 points under the English Language criteria as well. If so, then you dont need any letter from NARIC
