Extention of discretionary leave to remain

Post by i_m2u » Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:44 pm

I have a discretionay leave to remain for 3 years in the UK after my appeal was allowed on human rights grounds. I had horrible circumstanses when i applied for leave to remain under human rights act article 8 & 3. Most of the issues have been sorted and i am doing well. But i m still suffering from the mental health issue and getting the medical help regarding it. But constant fear that my application for further leave to remain would not be possible having disastrous effects on my mental health and overall well being. suffering from panic attacks continuously. could anyone please explain that if the condions on which i was granted discretionary leave to remain intially do not exist anymore how would i get the further leave to remain. i m a taxi driver and earn good money. hopping to get mortgage and get on with my life in uk while having no connections at all back in my own country since i moved to uk.thanks and i hape someone would put me out of misery by reassuring me that i will be alright for the sake of my sanity and mental health.

If you can, get your doctor to write a detailed medical report regarding your mental health issues, and forward it to your caseworker! There is no point saying you are suffering from all these things without the medical evidence to back you up! At least if a doctor confirms these issues, this might help your application to stand in good stead.
Having said that, it is awfully difficult to get an extension of DLR if the conditions on which it was first given no longer exist. But I do wish you the best, and hope that things will eventually work out for you.
