Qualifications

Post by mah » Sun Oct 25, 2009 9:25 pm

Hi Guys,
I am applying for the HSMP to Tier 1 extension tomorrow. Regarding my qualifications I want to claim 50 points for my Ph. D. it was the same I claimed for initial HSMP.

How can I get sure they will give me this point not 35.

My story is:

When I applied for HSMP 2 years ago, first they sent me a letter of refusal with details that I got 35 points for qualification and 15 for income (My claim was 50 for Qualifications and 45 for income)

Funny that they said you claimed 35 for qualifications and granted 35 for it !!!! and you claimed 45 for earnings but granted 15. And funny they said my total points was 65 !!!! but after 2 days they themselves sent the Home office letter that approved my application.

So who knows what I should do to be sure I get 50 for my degree?

The best way to be sure about it is to see PBS calculator for your Ph.D. If it awards you 50 points for your Ph.D., you claim 50 points, and send PBS calculator report with your current application.
