If your PhD is recognised by PBS then why not?saurya_s wrote:Hi all,
I got HSMP through the MBA program in 2007. I got thru the MBA program only because at that time the MBA applications were fast tracked. I also hold a PhD from a reputed UK university. Can I use PhD to claim points while seeking extension?
Thanks
S

You can use PhD qualification. If you have not used this qualification in your initial application, you would need to send the Degree Certificate along with your application.saurya_s wrote:Thanks mate. My Phd is earned in 2002 and MBA in 2007 both from UK university recognized in PBS. I got HSMP in 2007 because of accelerated process. So, you are sure they will not object if I claim points based on different degree? I assume so- here is an excerpt from UKBA website http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... appendixa/
"Specified documents must be provided as evidence of the qualification, unless the applicant has, or was last granted, leave as a Highly Skilled Migrant or a Tier 1 (General) Migrant and previously scored points for the same qualification in respect of which points are being claimed in this application."
