Tier 1 General Migrant Dependant Visa Application

Post by shani786 » Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:47 pm

Dear members,

I need to know some information regarding dependant visa for my newly born son who was born in New York in September 2009.

I am in UK on Tier 1 General Migrant (HSMP) visa and my FLR is due in February 2010 and my wife became my dependant in May 2009.

I am bit confused whether I should apply for my son’s dependant visa now which would be only valid until Feb 2010 or is it possible that I can include him and my wife as my dependant in FLR application which is quite soon in Feb 2010???

I would be grateful for your prompt response.

Zee.

I think you have to apply for your son within six months of birth. If this six month conincide with your actual extension that would work out for you.

If your son is in the UK with you and he does not have to travel between now and Feb 2010, you may wait and submit his application along with yours when you apply for your FLR next year.

Thanks chetanojha and crowbar6 for your replies.

Actually my son is still in US and they'r planning of coming to UK in December. Being US citizen he can come and stay in UK for six month and I am not sure whether I should bring him here in December on 'on arival six month visa' and then include him & my wife when apply for FLR in Feb 2010. Do you think it would work?

OR I must submit his dependant application to UK consulate in New York because US citizen can't change visa status while staying in UK? and once he has my dependant visa on his US passport then he can come to UK.

Awaiting for your response.
