Documents lost in post

Documents lost in post

Does anyone know what happens if God forbid the documents sent by home office gets lost in post? Does anyone know any story or information how to deal with this scenario? These postal strikes are bringing all the negative thoughts in my mind

No idea pal, specially since they might and might not use uor special delivery envelopes!

See when u post ur application there shudnt b any chance tht it ll b lost coz anyone ll send it thru special delivery.
And when HO ll return they ll send it thru recorded delivery.

So where is the chance of losing ur documents. Please dnt have any such thoughts in ur mind.

one possitive thing is that nearly nobody is getting any response in last few days accept few people who might be really lucky. This makes me think that it is due to these people who work in Royal Mail.

another thing came to my knowledge is if some business who had large number of post. Royal Mail offers a self pickup by their staff if post is above certain thousand. It could be the reason that homeoffice didn't get the post out due to people on strike. And i am quite sure they will be using this free service provided by Royal mail

If HO cofirm that your documents is despatched by them, you have to wait for 30 days before Royal Mail accept any parcel-lost complaint. That too from HO not by you.
I had similar issue. I forgot to include special delivery return envelop. HO sent all my documents by signed delivery. When I enquired i was told documents were sent a week ago and I started having panick attacks. I enquired Royal Mail and they said they didn't find any reference to the the tracking no. and asked me to get HO to register a lost-parcel document. When spoke to HO they said they cannot file a complaint before 30 days.There was postal strike that weekend too.Luckily i spoke to my local post office person who said all SD parcels will be cleared first(as soon as strike is over) and then other deliveries. I eventually received my documents back after 9 days though I live only a mile away from home office building. Should I have included SD return envelope it could have save me so much panick,tension and sleepless nights.

I think you had the return post reference number from the home office isn't it? and you were trying it on Royal Mail website with no status.

Is that true.

When you did receive the documents did you check the royal mail site was it giving any status then?

The day you received your documents back have you checked the status in the morning or not.

I just wanted to find out if the document is scaned when received at the local delivery office or they update after it is delivered.

As said above info about signed delivery is only updated once parcel is delivered.
