Tier 1 General Migrant Dependent From India

Post by remedy123 » Thu Nov 19, 2009 3:50 pm

Dear All,
I am in big confusion about balance and processing time for Tier 1 General Dependent visa applying from India.
It will be great if you can help on following ques.

1)I am in UK currently on Tier 1 General Migrant from last 2 year. Now I am going to India in December for marriage. I am not sure how much balance I need to show and for how long. Is it necessary I must need to show UK bank accounts or I can show both UK bank account and India's bank account if balance going low than requied. Atmost for how many days before the application date I can show my balance.
3)Can I show my dependent's a/c or my father's a/c or my dependent's father's bank accounts of India as a fund maintainance for this visa.
2) What is the current processing time for Tier 1 General Migrant Dependent Visa from India.

Thanks very much for your help in advance.

£ 800 + £533, as the main applicant is in the UK for more than 12 months

Is it necessary I must need to show UK bank accounts or I can show both UK bank account and India's bank account if balance going low than requied.

You can show both the accounts from UK and India
Atmost for how many days before the application date I can show my balance.

The minimum balance that has been mentioned above should be maintained for at least months and the amount should not have been gone below even on a single day

3)Can I show my dependent's a/c or my father's a/c or my dependent's father's bank accounts of India as a fund maintainance for this visa.

Only yours or your dependant's and should satisfy the duration criteria
2) What is the current processing time for Tier 1 General Migrant Dependent Visa from India.

No idea with respect to the processing time from India. Some one should be able to answer this Q

Thanks very much for your help in advance.

Hi Dear,

Thanks for your information. As you said the balance (£800+£533) should be maintained for at least months.
Could you please tell me how many months it's just 1 month or more than that?
Also just to doulbe make sure, can I show £800+£533 from my UK bank account (NatWest) and from my India's (ICICI) bank account. Is that OK? Or is it necessary from NatWest Account only? For example I have got only £322 for 10 days in my UK bank account but I have got more than 1lac rupees in my India's account and thats make £800+£533 together, so is that ok if I show both accounts statement as Fund Maintenance?

Thanks a lot.

Only the most recent statement must be dated within one month of the date of application

Where the funds are in a currency other than pounds sterling, the amount we consider will be based on the exchange rate for the relevant currency on the date of the application, taken from the rates published on www.oanda.com.

The above guidance is from the link below on P-12

Thanks a lot.
