Hi SSUK,

I dont think you can combine your income to support your claim. Dependants are supposed to be supported by the main holder, so you have to provide evidence that you alone are able to support both of you.

Your wife's income will not award you points for past earnings, but maybe you can get 10 points for skilled partner, if she is graduated or currently working as a graduate level professional, and you can prove you have been living together for at least 2 years.

Regarding immigration lawyers, it's tottaly up to you... But you can certainly find any information you need if you go through the guidances, official websites and foruns like this one. Sometimes ppl prefer to hire a lawyer for immigration process because it might give them a little peace of mind. The truth is if you do a full research you might even do a better job than a lawyer...

Good Luck!
Lu.

Hi SSUK

1. Yes

2. Definitely No

3. I am not aware that it is tougher than what it use to be, infact the decisions are made earlier now than before. Except maybe because they now have so many applications, they look out for every little reason to turn down Applications. So you must have a water tight Application.
Humn, seems i have actually ended up agreeing with you that it is somehow tougher. :)

4. Not necessarily. With my experience with Consultants, if the Consultants is not 99% sure that he will get the approval out with the documents you are able to provide, he will not touch the Application with a long pole. Except a Consultant that is more interested in collecting the fees rather than the success of your Application.
