Student dependent and ILR

I have two question to ask if some one kind enough to answer them;

1. I got a Student visa till Sep 2011, what if I apply student dependent visa in June 2011 from my back home and get reject can I still be able to use my student visa to come back to UK or it will be automatically cancel once I apply student dependent visa.
2. If I apply student visa from back home does that effect on my ILR on the basis of long residency? Because I already have spend 6 year as an international student without any break.

1. It really depends HOW you get rejected. If you get rejected due to fraud or fake documents, then yes, you will be banned from entering the UK. Otherwise, no, I don't think your student visa will be affected.

2. No, it will not matter whether you apply here or abroad, doesn't affect ILR. (however, it does look like the long residency rule may be scrapped after the election this year....)

1- you will have only three months to get your dependent visa, and by the time you will get the results of it, it may be too late to travel back to UK.
Immigration officer will definitely doubt your entry into the country, especially when your visa expiry is near, unless you may have strong evidence of continuation of your studies.
I would advised to make sure that you do not make any mistake when applying for dependent visa, and since you have enough time, so plan it.

2- As above said, it will not affect, but lately, they rejects most of the student extensions on 9th year.
Also there are strong speculations, that with the earned citizenship they are going to stop this, so students may not get the ILR, irrespective of their time spending here.
Again word of wisdom, avoid thinking on those line, and think more on others.

As far as I understand, '10 years on student visa' happens to the children of those ultra rich people who send their children to UK at a very young age so they stay on student visa from going to kindergarton to graduating from uni.

If you've already been a student for 10 years why not apply now while they still have that rule?

i got my student visa before the new rule of tier4.. i like to get my wife here in uk.. what requirements should i and my wife need to provide.. and how long it takes the process.. my wife is in the philippines.. thank you very much..
