newbie - Tier1(G) what next steps?

Post by ravi252 » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:03 am

I read this forum about how long visa is valid after approval. Got information, thanks it was helpful.

Few follow-up questions: (I understand situation, experience, qualification, luck differ for each individual, however wanted to understand what process is common for most of us and experience from seniors like you)

1) person_A applies Tier1(G) from outside UK
2) He gets visa approval for 3 years

Options
a) Apply for UK job from home country (give UK friend address, phone). Line up interview and then start to UK. If a person spends 1 year in home country to line up interview then it impacts ILR process (understood this point)
b) Resign job from home country. Arrive immediately in UK, try for X months appearing interview and get into a job

Questions:
a) Approx how much pounds require from "Maintanence" funds to stay in UK for 4 months? (Just ballpark would do as it varies with city, personal expense)
b) Can a person teach in school (part time legal job; for an example) till he gets into his/her mainstream job (full time; IT job for an example)? Is there a restriction for Tier1(G) visa NOT to work multiple part time legal job.

I know my questions sounds very open NOT specific enough, but trying to weigh options available on the table for a newbie who has no prior known face in UK. Your answer would help if this visa would work in my favor or not. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance.
