Tier-1 Applying in Person

Post by silversurfer » Fri Feb 19, 2010 8:19 pm

Dear Members,

If applying in person is the decision and/or VISA issued the same day? (Applying from within U.K.)

Please also advise whether there is any significant benefit of applying through a solicitor rather than doing it on own.

Best Regards,
Silversurfer

Applying in-person at PEO does not guarantee same day service. Every case is assessed on its own merits and in cases where caseworker feels that a decision cannot be made the same day, the applicant is advised accordingly.

This applies not just to Tier 1 (General) applications but to all applications for leave to remain made in-person at any PEO.

regards

In normal circumstances if the case is straight forward and all the paperwork is in order will the decision be given the same day?

Please also advise whether it is better to apply through a solicitor.
Thanks!

If the situation is straight forward and one is confident with the application then there is no need of a solicitor. On the other hand if the case is critical and one is not confident then he can go with a solicitor. That totally depends on the applicant's situation.

If you think your case is complicated and have queries, post those specific queries and there a lot of people following these forums ready to offer their advice according to their personal experiences. Then you can decide whether to go with a solicitor or by own.

All the best...
