Reason to Enter UK within 28 days explained with example

I got my visa Valid From 10th March 2010 to 10th March 2013 and after 1st Extension the visa will be valid till 10th March 2015

Case 1: Let us suppose I enter UK on 10th April 2010 i.e. after 28 days. 5 Years completes on 10th April 2015.

What Current Rules Says: "Please do not apply more than 28 days before completing the qualifying period. If you apply earlier than that, your application may be refused. If that happens, we will not refund the fee and you will have to pay again when reapplying."

So I can apply for ILR on or after 13th March 2015 (i.e. 28 days before completing my 5 Years in UK) But my visa expires on 10th March 2015 and I will become illegal Immigrant on 11th March 2015. So to cover the dates from 11th March 2015 to 13th March 2015 I have to apply for 2nd Extension.

Case 2: Let us suppose I enter UK on 7th April 2010 i.e. exactly on 28th Day. 5 Years completes on 7th April 2015.

So I can apply for ILR on or after 10th March 2015 (i.e. 28 days before completing my 5 Years in UK) and as my visa expires on 10th March 2015 I am safe and apply for ILR on the same day itself.
