NEWS FOR DOCTORS IN TRAINING POSTS/WISH TO APPLY FOR IN UK

Post by GETMEIN » Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:45 pm

HOME OFFICE (18/03/2010) We will amend the restriction on working as a doctor in training in all four Tier 1 categories, following discussions with the Department of Health and other health sector stakeholders. The restriction is intended to prevent overseas doctors from depriving resident doctors of training placements.
GREAT NEWS.

All doctors in the UK (Overseas) on Tier 1-4 can now apply for specialty training positions.

Cheers

Doctors and new rules

Post by garudadri » Fri Mar 19, 2010 9:35 am

As far as I could see, the new rules have not made any difference to non-EU doctors.
They still cannot do "training jobs" under Tier-1.
Please could learned gurus clarify.
Thanks a lot

I think you are right. As far as I can understand, they are adding the restriction to 'dentists in training' also.

I think OP posted in excitment before fully understanding the text he/she has quoted and before reading the amendment(s) in detail (or understanding the impact).

Where did this come from? Reading Statement of Changes (HC439) will help.
