Is it possible to extend Tier 1 visa for second time?

Hi everyone:

I've a question regarding ILR ( Indefinite Leave to Remain ) and multiple FLRs ( Further Leave to Remain - extension ).

My Tier 1 / General visa runs from 12th March, 2009 through 12th March, 2012 - However, I came to UK late on January 21, 2010. Now, I've a job here and am calling my family over to stay with me.

The question I have is: As I came to UK 10 months late - I will not meet the 5 years of stay requirement at the end of my first Tier 1 visa extension in 2014 - I'll have only 4 years of stay by then. My friends here tell me that I will not be eligible for ILR and it is not possible to extend Tier 1 visa second time. Could anyone please confirm/refute this claim? Under present rules, can someone apply for Tier 1 visa extension for the second time?

you can extend your visa any number of times provided you meet the requirement.

Thanks aruni4470. That helped. During each of those extensions, will I be subject to new rules in effect at that time or the existing set of rules?

For example. I just noticed that now they have raised the bar for points claimed through income ( instead of 40K, one now has to earn 75K to claim 45 points ). So, if I apply for extension, will I be subject to this new set of rules or old rules which were in effect when I was first granted the Tier 1 visa?
