Unmarried partner visa interview in 2 days please help!!!!!!

I am English and my boyfriend is South African we applied for a unmarried visa in November, they requested more documents and have now called us for an interview. We have proof of living together for over two years. we think we have been called up because we are so young I am 18 he is 23. What questions should we expect at the interview? we are very worried please help!

Your partner submitted the application for UPV by post? And now they want to see him? Or both of you?

You are 18 and "have proof of living together for over two years.", which must have meant you were 16 years of age when you started living together, and hopefully not before that.

Your partner? What sort of visa does he have at the moment?

Not necessarily at all. It could be about any aspect of the application or the evidence. Financial? Accommodation? You say that they have already asked for more information. What sort of thing were they asking for? Does that given any clue to sort of thing they might have concerns about?

It could be that rather than them continually writing for more information and you replying an interview might enable a decision to be made that much quicker.

We went through a visa help company who placed our application for us.
We live in my family home, we have plenty of funds. He moved into my family home once I had turned 16.
He has a student visa which has now run out but still legaly remains here as the application was lodged before it ran out.
They asked us for wage slips, a letter confirming my father owns the house and has given his permission for us to live here and several repeats of documents we had allready sent in. We will be travelling nearly 500 miles to go to the interview in Sheffield.

Technically the student visa has not run out. It is "treated as continuing" in accordance with Section 3C, given that the UPV application was made prior to the stated expiry date on the student visa.

Could it be the IND think that he is just a lodger in your family home? If that is suggested, how will you combat that?

That is, a UPV is for someone "living as if married". How would you prove that, rather than a suggestion that he is merely a lodger?

Do appreciate that in asking that I am acting as a "devil's advocate". Hopefully the visa will end up being granted.

500 miles? Is that each way? Or 500 miles return trip?

We have sent them photos of us together, join bank account statements, greeting cards, letters from people who have known us as a couple living together in a relationship akin to marriage, also a letter from the mutual friend who introduced us and has known us as a couple ever since.
It is 500 miles each way.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you? There cannot be many places 500 miles from Sheffield!

The evidence of the two of you living together ... sounds like you have that angle nicely covered!

We live right down south by the sea sorry 500 round trip!
we want to make sure we go prepared we have no idea how they conduct their interviews we have been told all of the girls leave crying they are so tough. We have no idea what questions to expect!

I am just amazed that you need to travel to Sheffield for the interview. Surely that could be done in say Croydon, or Birmingham, dependent upon where on the south coast might be nearer. Such a shame that you need to travel so far.

I don't recollect anyone posting a message on this Board about this sort of interview. Can I ask, the source of your information?

it actually came from the solicitor helping us with our case. I'll let you know how we get on hopefullly it wont be that bad.
