Hello All,
I hold a Tier-1 (General) visa due to expire 29-MAY-2012. I arrived in the UK on 18-OCT-2009. My question is regarding Tier-1 (General) Dependant visa for my mother. I will clarify the situation to the best of my ability and would like if I could be guided on that.
I'm from Pakistan. We're a family of 4 sisters, 1 brother and our mother. All my sisters are married. One of them holds British nationality and is currently residing in the UK. Another is on Tier-1 (General) residing in the UK (I'm currently staying with this sister). Other two are in Pakistan. My mother is 68 years old. My father died 23 years ago. She has been totally dependant on me for last 6+ years (since I have finished my studies and started my professional career). Before that we were dependant on my sister who's got British nationality and she was in the UK at that time on work permit. I or my mother do not have any property in Pakistan or elsewhere. She has a nominal pension (approx. Rs. 3,000 per month) from my father's jobs. I'm also married with two kids. My mother is currently living with my wife and kids in a rented home in Pakistan. I haven't applied for dependant visa for my wife and kids. However, I would like to apply for visa for all 4 of my family members (mother, wife and kids) so they can join me. The reason for that is that if my wife and kids come over here, there's no place that my mother can live back in Pakistan (please consider that its culturally not possible that she could stay with my sisters as they are married; I believe this also has a mention in an example in immigration rules). And if she starts the route of visit visas (which are not guaranteed on each application), she will still have to go back and apply again and she wouldn't have any place to live at at that time. So, the only viable way for me is to get whole of my family to join me. I'd appreciate if I could be guided on:
1. Is it possible for me to apply for my mother as a dependant given above circumstances?
2. What sequence should I follow to apply for my mother, wife and kids?
I have read through various posts on this discussion board and found out that its nearly impossible to get a long term visa, such as Tier-1 (General) Dependant, for parents, aged or not. However, I just wanted to post the whole scenario in front of learned and experienced members of the forum to ponder some light upon. Any helpful replies would really be appreciated. I'll try to get back with answers to any questions as soon as I can.
Thanks in advance for your help and guidance.
