Waiting time for premium PEO application??

Post by archieandrews33 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 9:28 pm

Hi All,

Can someone please advise what is the usual waiting time for an in-person PEO application?

I applied in person at Birmingham on 25th March and I am still awaiting my passport. Although the caseworker told me that they are granting me the Tier 1 visa, they held back my documents for some verifications. I was salaried in India with a large multi-national bank, so there is no question about my documents. I have clean earnings corroborated with salary slips and corresponding credits into my bank account.

One of my friends applied through post the same day and has already received his passport!

I wonder what they mean by 'same day' processing!

Is there anything I can do to expedite my case or at least get an accurate status update?

Same day processing means that if they can make a decision on the day, they will, but there are no guarantees of this. If they can't make a decision on the day then your application will be considered in turn.

No.

With decision on your application deferred, it is now as good as a postal application and the processing time may be similar to that of postal applications.

Unfortunately, no one but the caseworker can tell you why a decision on your application was deferred.

Applying in person at a public enquiry office wrote:Service standards

Our published service standards describe how quickly we aim to decide different types of application. For charged applications made in person at a public enquiry office, our service standard says that we will decide 90 per cent of cases within 24 hours.

thanks for your views all. It is interesting that 90% of cases are decided within 24 hours! But what about the remaining 10% of the cases?

My application is now stuck for over 5 weeks - and as I applied in person at the PEO, I had not included the self-addressed Royal Mail envelope.

Any suggestions on what I can do (if anything) to expedite the process or at least get a status about my application. Is there no separate call center number for premium applications? It is beginning to appear I paid more money for more waiting time!

Such applications are treated as normal (postal) applications and are likely to follow similar timelines.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but wait patiently. People may suggest that you involve your MP in expediting a decision, but given that it has just been 5 weeks from submission I am not sure if an MP would like to get involved or, if even if he does, UKBA will do anything out-of-turn.

Hi archieandrews33,

My advice for you to just wait for it my friend. I wnt through the same thing. Applied at the PEO 1st week of April. They held back my applicaiton for further verificaitons. Got my letter and BRP last week. Which was a relief. I realized that if your papers are in place, you should fine and all you could do is wait and hope for the best :).

regards,

Thanks mate - did you submit the self-addressed envelope at the PEO? I didn't carry it as I was expecting a same day decision, and realised it much later! Hope that isn't a concern.
