NO, there is no such thing. He has to apply for Irish visa (D-type) at his country of residence.Trinx wrote: aquiring visa at passport control in the airport?
You can obtain a visa for your non EU spouse at the airport if you manage to reach Ireland with your spouse. The question would be how would you reach Ireland if he/she doesnt have a visa? No airlines would let him/her board the flight.Trinx wrote:Yes he does.. I thought that we cud obtain it at the airport in person..
I dont know much about immigration procedures.. so sorry for wasting time with my stupid question
How would your spouse get to Ireland, airline wont let you get on the plane without visa, even if you do Irish Immigration will consider it illegal entry. so tell your spouse to apply for Irish visa from thier countryTrinx wrote:Is it possible to bring your spouse to ireland with you without applying for a visa for him prior to travel and aquiring visa at passport control in the airport?? Can he gain entry and go directly for a GNIB card on entry??

Why did you travel via Dublin? Just to avoid dealing with the hassle of the EEA FP?cuteson wrote:I went to Dublin with my Hungarian issued family member 5 years card without my wife and without a visa, got an entry stamp for 90 days. And also traveled to the UK from dublin without visa, no border control at the aiport,Luton. Entered UK and applied for my residency card, got my COA now. According to the law, yes you can.
No didnt have any problem, those with EU family member cards dont need visa for ireland, is official. went to ireland for over a month for family visit and wanted to apply for EEA FP but got a reply from www.whatdotheyknow.com that i dont need the permit to travel to the UK from Dublin. i traveled with a copy of the border agency reply. is that simple. And basically, as EU family member, you dont need EEA FP to travel to the UK, you can be admitted on code 1A for 6 months on arrival, as long as you are not an offender or have bad histories with immigration, then you are ok. is simple, nothing to hide, nothing to be worried about.Directive/2004/38/EC wrote:Why did you travel via Dublin?
