Applying for Dependent visa - out of country

Post by jessica_halida » Tue Nov 08, 2011 4:41 pm

First of all I do apologise if this is a repeated topic.

Background :
me -> Tier 1 General (until april 2013), I lived and work in UK till date.
son -> my dependant
husband -> Tier 1 post study (until sept 2012)

My husband has been out of UK since Sept 2010 and work overseas (he is not under PAYE so he is not been using his Tier1), he will be back to UK in december to settle back here - and was thinking to make him my dependant.
My question.

1. My husband will apply from Indonesia, will he need my passport + residence permit (biometric) as a purpose of application? Is that means I had to send a copy to him or it has to be original?

2. Can anyone suggest what other document to prepare besides marriage cert and bank statement. I read on forum you have to proof the "sustaining" relationship? Is that means like pictures, proof of money being sent, etc?

3. Anyone has an idea how long does it take? my husband is a consultant and it's very hard for him not to have his passport for more than a week.

Thank you!

1. Yes. Photocopies, unless the BHC in Indonesia dictates otherwise.
2. See Guidance - Tier 1 (General) Dependent application
3. Visa processing times
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
