EEA4 and change situation

Post by yukainlondon » Wed Jan 11, 2012 10:13 pm

I had had EEA2 for 5 years from 2007 Jan to 2012 Jan.
I applied for EEA4 in Nov 2011, had COA on 3 Nov.

I guess the EEA 4 is coming anytime soon.

However, I wonder what will be happened to my visa EEA4 if my relationship finishes.

I have been in UK since 2002 legally, is it possbile to change UK residence from EEA4?

EEA4 is an application for confirmation of Permanent Residence. Once this is confirmed, you are not dependant on your EEA sponsor any more. There is no need to change this status as this is permanent (as long as you don't leave the UK for more than 2 years).

On a slightly related note - I wonder what happened during the holidays that so many questions in the first weeks of January are about ending marriage and retention of rights. :?

I took a look the form again, couldn't find why I feel like that

However there is another reason, some one has to EEA 4,
when she got one a letter with EEA 4 says the visa will finish the time of the relatioship finishes.

Are you sure it was EEA4? Maybe it was EEA2 - a 5 years Residence Card?

Have you actually seen the letter? Don't trust hearsay.

You are right Jambo and it's bad for the genuine people who apply for eea4 . There will be a time when they will come to your house and check with neighbour colleagues etc regarding your relationships.

I thought it should be clear what will be happened for the future, no one knows what will happen. I don't pretend to be couple.
