Advice regarding UK visitor visa conditions

Post by saw87 » Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:38 pm

Hi,

I'm new to the forum so I hope I am posting in the right section, apologies if I'm not. I would like to ask for some advice regarding a UK visitor visa...

My partner (Turkish citizen) has just been issued with a general visitor visa to come to the UK for up to 6 months. The purpose of the visit is that he can spend time with me in the UK and meet my family, before we get married in Turkey next year.

However before we get married we would like for him to have already sat the English Language Exam required for a UK Spouse Visa.

Does anyone know if he is allowed to sit the exam at a centre in the UK, whilst here on a visitor visa? I know the immigration rules state he is not to undertake a course of study, but does this also prohibit him from sitting the exam? He will not undertake any course as I will help him prepare for the exam.

We of course do not want to do anything that may jeopdise our future applications therefore any advice on this matter would be appreciated.

Many thanks.
