Restricted Certificates Of Sponsorship

Post by tassos » Thu Apr 12, 2012 10:50 am

Hi,

As I am on PSW Visa, have been working with my employer since December 2010 and earning a salary of 26k, wants to switch to Tier 2 Visa. I asked my HR Department to provide me a restricted COS but they told me that under the dropdown list of Restricted Category it's just showing two categories. Ther is no restricted category for switching from PSW Visa to Tier 2.

Now what I should do ... ?

Two Categories showing are given below :

1) Tier 2 (General - New Hires Under (150,000)
2) Tier 2 (General - Tier 4 Dependant switching to Tier 2)

If you are applying from inside UK you dont need restricted COS. You need a unrestricted COS

Thank you so much for your reply. They have also applied for an allocation of an unrestricted COS and now 5 weeks have been passed still they haven't got any allocation. Do you know what's the problem behind it.

Applied Date : 06/03/2012

unrestricted CoS tier4 to tier2 general

Post by xanadu85 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 8:46 pm

Same situation here.Company applied for CoS on 26th march.Employer called UKBA yesterday 11th april and they said that only cases where visa expires in the next 7 days are being considered urgent. However they did say that the situation will be resolved in the next few days. But from experience with UKBA ords don't count! My visa expires on 30th june.Do you think that even i could overstay my visa if that happens and apply when CoS is issued after visa expiry?

What i mean is are extension applications treated in same way as switching? I am swtiching from tier4 to tier2 general.

Any clarifications much appreciated.
