Proxy Marriage

Post by stuckinthemiddle » Tue May 29, 2012 9:39 am

Hi

I have been doing some research but there is no clear indication of under what circumstances the ukba will accept a proxy marriage.

My question would be if the country where the proxy marriage was contracted (where the proxy was appointed and marriage certificate was signed) accept and recognise proxy marriage but the groom was in UK then is this valid.

If there is proof that the couple have met and provide all the other relevant documents than is this type of marriage recognised for the purpose of a spouse visa?

Thanks
