Waiting period for work permit

Post by badger111 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:46 pm

Hello everyone!

I have entered civil partnership in UK, and after that I have applied for work permit. The application was sent on 5 March, I got letter and went to the post office for biometrics on 30 March, and have heard nothing since. So since biometrics there have been almost 3 months!!! Is this normal?

We didn't pay extra and go to one of the designated office's because we thought it wouldn't take more then 2 months, and now unfortunately we cannot change application, but only wait.

I would appreciate your experiences as this is getting ridiculous, and I haven't contacted Home office because they basically don't want to be contacted.

Thanx

Applied for "work permit" or "leave to remain as civil partner of a settled person or British citizen?

Leave to remain as the civil partner.

I just call it work permit because I have been waiting for so long and am desperate to start working. :) Sorry
