Entrepreneur visa applying from India...requirements..URGENT

Post by asfaqali0 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:19 pm

Hi all

Apologies if this has been discussed before but I need this information urgently.

Basically I am on PSW visa currently and it expires in a month. I want to switch to Entrepreneur visa but conscious of time and the requirements, I was wondering if I can apply for this from India. If yes, then can you please confirm the requirements (funds, etc) as I am confused after getting different advice from other blogs.

Also, my visa might expire by the time I apply from India. Would appreciate the best advice to get this sorted anyhow.

Many thanks in advance.

If you apply from India you will not get any of the concessions that are afforded to those who switch from inside the UK. The job will have to undergo the RLMT.

so just make this clear.....

If I apply from within the UK in the next 3 weeks...are these the only requirements for me to qualify for the Entrepreneur visa:
£50k in my account
Registered as self employed with HMRC (from this week)
Show proof of advertising etc.

Is this correct? just need to be sure about this and confident before I make any obvious mistake as im running out of time. :(

really appreciate your help. :)

That is also in the guidance. If you read it and still want clarification I will be happy to comment further.

so I have gone through the guidance doc. and I need some clarity on what documents should I provide if I register myself as self-employed rather than owning a business...

The application form has a question (G22): that the applicant should provide 1 or more docs from the following to confirm their business activity:
Advertising or marketing material, article in the newspaper, information from a trade fair, registration with a trade's body.......now how should I provide this if I am self-employed?

Best thing i can help & advise is,
1. get bank statement on your own name with funds in for few days

2. Travel to UK and i will get rest of the documents ready for you. by the time u get here u can post ur application but off course it will cost u. need more info. creative.shaukat@gmail.com

Thanks for your offer Shaukat....but I am in the UK and I shall consider your offer and let you know.

I just have one final question....since I have registered myself as self-employed but I have not been working at all since last month...how can I justify this point from the guidance doc:

"In an occupation skilled to graduate level
Other than the work necessary to administer the business, your main business activity must be working at graduate level. We will not take into account the tasks involved with the running of the business for this assessment."

Please help me with this....rest all I have managed to figure out :)

Many thanks!

1. You do,nt need to justify anything. just registered a company.

2. Now job title obviously depends on your business nature. For example if i tell you Software developer as job title it may not match with your business. So 1st you have to decide that what business you want to do, figure out if its appear on List provided and then figure out your role in business and choose it as your job title

3. Its fine if you are in UK. dats good. now u can do the things in better way.

Good Luck
Shaukat
