Tier 1 (General) extension from UK - certificates ?

Post by Arman21 » Sun Aug 26, 2012 10:56 am

Hello,

I'm applying for extension of my Tier 1 (General) from UK and I would like to check if I need to submit the following documents:

Dependent (Wife) - marriage certificate
Dependent (Child) - birth certificate (issued not in UK)

I assume the birth certificates are required only for children. However, it is not clear for me if this applies to UK born children only. Should I provide a birth certificate of my son issued outside of UK? Obviously, he has a passport where we are mentioned as his parents. However, I wonder if this is not enough since the birth certificate is mentioned in the check list.

There are no any relevant references in the Tier 1 guidance and I'll greatly appreciate any advice.

Regards,

Many thanks for the swift feedback! Actually, the only reference that I found is p.33 of the PBS defendant policy guidance: “If the family member is a child born in the UK to a PBS migrant and their dependant partner, the applicant will need to submit a full UK Birth Certificate …”
I wonder if there is any other reference.

Thanks again.
Regards, :)
