Question regarding switching categories

Post by sporkful » Mon Oct 01, 2012 9:53 am

I tried doing a search, but couldn't find anything relevant. There's a line in the UKBA site that says, "with permission to stay that was given for a period of less than 6 months" in regards to switching visa categories.

I'm a little confused by the wording on this. Does this mean I need to have at least 6 months left on my current visa in order to qualify? Or does it just mean my current visa had to be longer than 6 months total?

Thanks!

The latter. Basically, visit visas are issued for a maximum of six months so this rules excludes anyone with a visit visa from switching because their leave was issued for six months or less.

Cool, thanks! I must have read that a dozen times and got to the point where I could barely think, let alone decipher it :D
