How to book and apply for Dependent visa from India?

Post by user_name » Fri Nov 02, 2012 12:49 pm

Hi All,

Sub: Tier 1 General Dependent (Wife of main applicant) Visa from India.

I remember that earlier we could able to book an appointment via email and submit the application filled by hand at the VFS office.

Now I had a look at the ukba site. It looks like we have to submit an application online, book the appointment at the end of online application and take a print of the online application towards the VFS centre.

Is this correct?

Many Thanks.

Yes
You need to make an an appointment before attending the visa application centre. You need to make the appointment online after you complete your application form.

No, it would have to be a new application for entry clearance.

I would like get some clarity on the requirement of taking TB test.

The dependent was in UK for 10 months.
The dependent returned to India a month ago.
Now the dependent is in India now.
The current visa expires very soon.
Planning to apply for new visa (entry clearance) sooner rather than later.

The link http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/count ... gname=null says
"You do not need a TB test if you are:
a returning UK resident (unless you have been absent from the UK for more than 2 years)."

Does this mean the TB test is not mandatory in my case?

Please share your thoughts.

Many Thanks
