switching from PSW tier4

Post by sujan792000 » Wed Nov 21, 2012 11:54 am

I came to UK on 2003 as student. From onwards I have studied my BSC and MSC. Computer Science. I have completed my MSC on 2010, and then I have switched to PSW. It is going to expiry on 19/Jan/2013.

Question

1) Shall I able to study any NCQ level 5 0r 6 level courses like ACCA?
2) The number years is allowed to study for specific levels rule, which is going to apply any student coming to UK after April/2012 or every one, who are came to UK to study before that date?

Thank you

The limit on degree level study applies to everyone who has spent time studying in the UK on a student or tier 4 visa. In other words it will apply in your case.

Thank you greenie. I have one more question, shall I able to study any Level 4 or 5 ICM management courses (diploma) under new immigration rules, because I have already completed my degree & Msc in computing.

You already spent 8 years on student visa with degree level courses, which finishes almost all maximum student visa limits. But I think you can take a chance with further studies with MPhill / PhD in Computer Science / Information Technology courses. It will be good coz it will show your real intentions of further studies with clear academic progression.

Bear in mind, as you are near to be eligible for 10 years ILR, your matter is extra sensitive. UKBA will try their best to reject your visa with any reason. So I think swtiching on Tier-4 with any Level 3/4/5 course will not be a good idea.

Also, I will strongly suggest you to consult with a good immigration lawyer.
