UK work permit applicaiton - Police custody in UK

Hi,

One of my friend got mistakenly caught for a theft and was in Police custody. Given the choice, either a trial in court or accept with a warning letter, he choose the later and was out on the same day. It just ended with a warning letter.

He was in a UK business visa at that time. Now he has to apply for a UK work permit. Will this create any problems?

Appreciate your thoughts on this..
