Life in the UK test and PEO appointment very close.

Post by googoosan » Wed Feb 20, 2013 2:06 pm

Hi,

I need some urgent assistance from the members here. I am now due for my ILR application, and have booked the Life in the UK test on 23rd February (Saturday).

After trying for a long time, I managed to secure an appointment with Croydon PEO on 25th February (Monday). I know that the guidance notes say atleast 2 working days between the appointment and the life in the UK test.

What are my options? Can I go ahead with the application as planned or is there a chance that it maybe refused. I am thinking the worst that could happen is it will get delayed. But, I am concerned about the length of the delay.

Is there anyone here that has applied under similar circumstances? What did the CW say if the test results did not reach the UKBA systems?

If circumstances permit, it would be better to 'reschedule' your PEO appointment to a later date, giving at least a week between LIUK and PEO.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Thanks for the quick response. Although I can reschedule the appointment to a later date, there is no guarantee that it would be available in the immediate future. I am about to change my current job to a different employer and my last date here is March 15th. It would be ideal to get it done before that.

My current leave is valid till may.

I personally wouldn't risk it. Why don't you try to reschedule your appointment to a later date for next week itself? I have in the past seen last minute cancellations appear 48 hours prior the appointment time. I.e. that's the last moment when applicants are allowed to reschedule or cancel appointments online.

Good News guys, I managed to reschedule the appointment to 28th February. :)

Somehow, I have always been lucky on the online booking system.

I just need to crack the test now, and should start reading for it.

Good luck with your Test and Your ILR application. What is the secret of your online booking with UKBA???

Thanks Kevin,

I am not sure what it is.. but one thing that is common for all my online bookings is that it is between 16:30 - 17:00. I keep trying and within 30 mins I get an appointment.

Thank You mate for your prompt reply. Put in your best effort to pass the Test with 100% score. Also look at the Threads on the same subject, which could be some help to you.
