Currently ILR Holder- Permanent Job offer in India

Dear ILR holders-

Currently both myself and my wife got ILR visa on March 2012 and we are due for BC. This week i have received a permanent role job offer from India. How long i am eligible to stay out of UK and i am unable to find any details about this issue properly in Home office website.

I have been told by some friends that i am able to stay out of UK for 1 year 11 months but not 2 years continuously. In order to keep the ILR visa i have to visit UK for every year is that true?

I suppose somebody might come across similar situation like mine and your reply would much helpful.

An ILR holder would be subject to the returning residents provisions.
