Hi,
I am going to apply for ILR next month. I was on HSMP and now on Tier 1. I am full time employed (IT Professional) and also Self Employed ( Doing Private Hire / Taxi on weekends) to meet the income threshold. At the time of extension i was also employed and self employed and was doing tuition.
Now my question is if I mentioned that I am doing taxi business along with my full time job , will this make any bad impression on my application? My Accountant suggest me not to show accounts of taxi driving business as this will be create bad impression on my application and suggest me to show some other kind of business like home tuition or IT related business, the reason he was going that CW may object that I am on Highly Skill Visa and doing some low skill work like taxi driving .
Please advise
Thanks

I don't think your profession as taxi driver will affect your application .
CW does not decide applications on the basis of applicants profession but on the basis of criteria met or not. As long as you are making money and paying your taxes you are fine.
Good luck

I totally agree with your Accountant. CW will definitely think why you are doing Taxi Driving with a HSMP Visa.If you can show IT related Business work it will strengthen your application.

I, myself, got extension in Tier 1 (G) working as security guard and taxi driver. UKBA did not object anything regarding profession. Main thing is earning not the profession.

Wrong! To start with, you're suggesting that he should lie to UKBA about his source of earning. Also, there is no requirement for pre 2010 HSMP/Tier 1 holders to do 'highly skilled' job. Cases are merely judged on earnings, not source of earnings.
Goodluck.

If you were on Tier-2 and had additional source of earnings, it should be in the same field.
he is on tier-1 and i think as long as he has the points, he is fine.

No there is no any objection to CW. You was on Highly skill visa once they change tier-1 (general) its called skill worker. So thay don't have any problem unless if you not meet your income criteria. Tell them truth do not lie if the catch you in lie they will refused you. Best of luck
