He went into the hospital on Friday and was out by Monday/Tuesday. I don't think UKBA work over the weekend? Even it is proven very difficult to contact them on normal working days.

I'm still waiting too...
My father-in-law had a minor stroke two weeks ago and had to be admitted to the hospital immediately. Thank God it was only a minor attack and he can leave the hospital after three days.
But all the while, we're all worrying over here about his situation. If the situation had become worse, we wouldn't be able to go and visit him without our passports with us, especially within a short notice. It would be too late....
Thanks GMX.
But you didn't call HO at that time to see if they could give you any priority? The reason being, the ACK letter says, "All applications are considered in application date order unless there are any compelling or compassionate reasons to prioritise"...

I think they're trying => Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration -

But I'm not sure what UKBA is doing with regards to the reports findings

Nothing yet.
Your timeline is similar to mine.
Are you thinking of writing a letter to UKBA next week?

I am also thinking to do the same.
Do you know the best address to send it to? Croydon or Liverpool?

My timeline is similar to gmx and samriti2u. It will be 6 months for next week. Do you think writing to local MP would be a good idea?

Just wondering you might answer my question. I am in Tier 2 since November 2009 and i will be illegible for ILR in Oct/Nov 2014.
I am working with same employer since Jan 2008 but before my Tier 2 i was on PSW can i apply for ILR as i worked full time and paid tax with same employer since Jan 2008 it over 5 years.
I mean PSW (1.8 Years) + Tier 2 (3.5 Years) = Total time 5.3 Years

For SET (O) applications try Liverpool. I called them earlier this week to enquire saying my company wanted me to travel; they said since it had not been 6 months yet they could not advise over the phone but suggested I write to Liverpool office and request them.

Thanks a lot, cheshireindian!
Now I need to find out the correct address to send it to. They seem to have different addresses at Liverpool

It should be on your acknowledgement letter that they sent you.

Hello friends,
I applied for tier 1 ILR 5 year SET O on 2nd October 2012. Had biometrics done on dec 20th. I haven't heard anything yet.
And my Indian passport is expiring in 45 days. I am getting worried. What's my situation?
I'm in no hurry to travel, so will this expiry date impact decision on my ILR?
If I get ILR after passport expiry date, can I apply for new Indian passport being in UK or do I have to travel back to India to apply for renewal?
I am confused, please advise what's the best thing to do now?
Anyone in similar situation?
Thanks ,
Mrs Barua

You don't need to travel back to India for your new passport that you can get from Indian embassy in UK and your set O application ILR visa will be on BRP card not on the passport. I have applied for ILR at 2nd Oct 2012 and still waiting but recently i complain to UKBA CEO and MP and waiting for their response.
