Removal of sponsor details from ancestry visa.

Post by super-lee » Fri May 17, 2013 8:18 pm

Hi guys and girls,

First off I have an ancestry visa in the UK, I got it by having a family friend agree to put me up until i was working etc. I have since moved out and am on my own two feet.

Question 1, what are her responsibilities as far as the "Sponsorship" part goes? Does she have any liability or power over me while the visa is still valid?

Question 2, how do i go about removing any connection from visa, I do not want her name connected to my visa as I believe this will negatively impact my ILR application in the future.

Thanks
Lee

Your post makes no sense. Ancestry visas are granted to those who have Grandparents who were born in the UK. So, how does this girl fit into that scenario?

If your family friend only 'sponsored' you in terms of your accommodation and you qualified completely in your own right for the Ancestry visa, then the friend is not linked to your visa at all in any way and has absolutely no say or hold over you.

It is acceptable to arrange temporary accommodation etc until such time as you are on your feet so it would be unreasonable to tie a person to the accommodation sponsor.

There are no 'responsibilities' that either of you need to fulfill.
