I take it by the above that your British father is British by descent? What I am asking is whether your Father was British because his parents were British or did he naturalise as a British Citizen?mdcdtaylor007 wrote:I AM BORN OF ENGLISH SPEAKING PARENTS AND MY FATHER IS A BRITISH CITIZEN BORN IN SOUTHERN RHODESIA (ZIMBABWE) AND WAS BORN IN 1953 AND HE HAS LOST HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE BUT HE STILL HOLDS A BRITISH PASSPORT. AND I BORN IN 1981 AND I AM CURRENTLY LIVING IN SOUTH AFRICA AND BORN IN SOUTH AFRICA. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO APPLY FOR A BRITISH PASSPORT ??[/b]
If you have a passport issued before 1 January 1983 that describes you as a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies on page 1, you will almost certainly have become a British citizen on 1 January 1983. As if you were born outside the United Kingdom before 1 January 1983, you became a British citizen if, immediately before that date, you were a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies and had the right of abode in the United Kingdommdcdtaylor007 wrote:my father is british because his father was born in england and he has been to england when he was with his father. and my fathers mother is canadian born and she has a canadian citizenship because she was born in canada. thats all the info i have and my great grandfather was a freemason for the queen of england and he was also a uk born citizen
